I Love Fall

It's no secret - I love fall!  The changing leaves and cozy sweaters and Halloween and pumpkin spice everything.  For Adam - he's got hoodies and football to look forward to.  And it's one of those seasons we try to make fun for the kids.  Usually this means going to a pumpkin farm - and usually that means Gull Meadows in Richland.  It's just down the road from where Adam grew up, but it's nothing like he remembers it.  Now there are so many activities you could literally spend an entire day there (though the crowds might make you want to leave sooner).  If you time it just right though, you really can have a lovely day.  That is if mama doesn't try to take a million pictures of you.

Mason and I got to twice actually.  The first time was on a field trip with the 2nd graders at Arbor.  It's really fun chaperoning these events, once you get past the driving four 7-year-old boys part.  (Yikes!)  We did some different things on the field trip than we did on our family outing - like go for a hay ride and pick apples - so it was fun both times around. 

 

Of course all of these fall festivities culminate with Halloween..  The kids had their Halloween parties at school on Friday (TinkerBell and Spider-Man) and of course we went out trick-or-treating in our neighborhood on Saturday (Spider-Man and Witch).  The rain held off for the most part and the kids did fairly well with all the walking.  At one point near the end Mya declared that her legs could no longer carry her, so she got a ride on my shoulders for the last few houses. 

 

We may still have plenty of leaves to rake and Thanksgiving to celebrate, but it's about this point in Michigan that it feels like fall is coming to and end.  Hopefully this winter will be a short one, and then I can tell you about how much I love spring.
